I'm still not sure how one would play that thing with hooves.

I'm pleased with how Epona turned out. I was struggling a bit with her colours but eventually settled for what you see. She got no cutie mark because she's not from Equestria.
Only Link has been replaced, the rest of the in-game world remain the same - hence Epona's reaction.
